It’s common for people to buy each other drinks at a club or bar, but the common wisdom is that you should watch your drink being made and be careful throughout the night in case a creep sneaks drugs into it.

This woman did exactly that and turned to the bartender for help, but to no avail.

Man buys woman a drink

In the viral video watched more than 8 million times, tiktok User Randa (@damnranda_) explained that she was at a bar with friends when a man bought her a drink. However, he did not see the drink being made and noticed visible red stains in it before sipping it.

He was wary of what might be inside, especially thinking the date rape drug might have gotten in, so he explained the situation to the bartender and asked if he could make him a new one.

Bartenders need to be allies in this situation, and some even have special code words they use to help customers, especially women, get out of uncomfortable or potentially dangerous situations with men.

But in this case, the bartender didn’t care.

“We’re scared,” one of Randa’s friends told her.

“I’m not wasting any more drinks,” he allegedly told her.

Randa told him he could have the drink, walked away with his friend, and left the bar a short time later, no longer feeling safe in the bar.

What is date rape?

date rape” It is a term used to describe that the rapist already has a relationship with his victim, whether an acquaintance, a date, or an intimate partner.

It is also commonly used to refer to drugs and scenarios where a person (a stranger, an acquaintance, or a known party) surreptitiously adds drugs to the person’s drink for the purpose of sexually exploiting them.

Date rape drugs, also known as “roofs,” are usually sedatives called Rohypnol. However, many legal and illegal substances are used in the law. They usually come in the form of a small, tasteless tablet or liquid that cannot be detected by the human eye when mixed into a drink. According to him, these drugs can confuse a person, make him too weak to resist, and even cause him to act out. WebMD.

Roofs in particular can loosen your muscles enough to make it difficult to walk or stand, causing you to faint and faint. Roof coatings usually take effect within 30 minutes and peak around 2 hours. Even one milligram can stay in your system for up to 12 hours.

Signs to watch out for

Many date rape drugs are difficult to detect, especially in a party or bar setting. According to WedMD, there are a few red flags to look out for:

  • your drink suddenly becomes fizzy or foamy
  • tastes salty or bitter
  • a dark liquid that becomes cloudy or a clear liquid that appears blue
  • residue like a tablet that does not dissolve completely

What are bartenders supposed to do?

Bartenders in general are expected to be allies of a potentially drugged person. But there doesn’t seem to be any concrete rules or guidelines they adhere to.

You’d like to think the bartender remixed the drink, confronted the suspect, and escorted him out of the bar.

“As a bartender, he assumed: 1. Do it again 2. Ask you who that person was 3. Report it to his manager so they can keep an eye on this person. The bar could be held responsible!” one user wrote.

“Wow. Smh. And the drugs in that drink are CLEAR AS DAY! And won’t he do it again?!?” the top comment read.

“It’s scary how the bartender doesn’t act even remotely concerned…” one person said.

“I’d ask his name, tell his manager, leave a comment,” added another.
