Injured Kansas City police officer left hospital to begin rehab out of state

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City police officer was injured in an accident accident He left the hospital on Monday morning last month.

The officer, a 10-year veteran of the agency, was on a motorcycle when another driver struck him near Gregory and Troost on Oct. 16. Police said the officer was leaving a traffic stop at the time of the crash.

The officer was flown to an out-of-state hospital to continue his rehabilitation.

The police department said the officer has a long road to recovery ahead of him, according to the department.

Investigators said the driver of the vehicle that struck the officer stopped immediately and cooperated with police during the ongoing investigation.
