“I feel sorry for the fans, how slow the pitches are. “We were there for 5 hours and 40 minutes in the third round.

“We play four balls on a hard golf course at home and we complete the round in three and a half, four hours. It’s pretty crazy.”

Korda agreed, questioning why the leaders were dispatched so late in the afternoon.

“It’s kind of hard not being able to actually see,” the world’s No. 1 said.

“I think it was a bit of poor planning to start us so late.

“Anytime you’re sitting at 18 and the sun has already set, it’s never nice.”

Hull, one of the fastest players on the tour, believes extreme precautions should be taken.

He added: “I’m pretty ruthless but (my opinion is) if you time it badly three times it’s a two-shot penalty each time.

“If you have three you lose your Tour card immediately. I’m sure this will put a lot of people in a hurry and they won’t want to lose their Tour cards.

“That would eliminate slow play, but they never do that.”

Slow play is a serious problem in professional golf, not only for fans but also for players like Hull. trusting the rhythm.
