Cause of Death of Former Iron Maiden Singer Paul Di’Anno Announced

“Dear fans and friends, upon receipt of the autopsy results, we have received permission from Paul’s family to notify you of Paul’s cause of death. His sisters, Cheryl and Michelle, confirmed: ‘Basically there was a tear in the sac around the heart and blood flooded through the main aortic artery and that caused the heart to stop.’ Paul’s death was sudden and hopefully painless. May he rest in peace.

This weekend there was a showing of In Memoriam at Underworld Camden, where many of Paul’s fans, friends, colleagues and family members came. He said a fitting farewell to his musician colleagues friends with a magnificent musical set.”

As stated in the description, a tribute show The concert for Di’Anno last Thursday (November 7) was held at Underworld Camden, where the singer had sold out tickets for a show in 2023 and planned to play again before his death. The evening featured performances by Electric Gypsy, Gypsy’s Kiss and Hi-On Maiden; These were all planned to support parts of a future Di’Anno tour, but unfortunately it did not materialize.

These groups and other musical colleagues such as Terry Wapram (ex-Iron Maiden) and Tino Troy (Praying Mantis) played songs from Di’Anno’s catalog and shared anecdotes from the stage. Limited edition products already printed for the tour in question were also put on sale.

In recent years, Di’Anno has dealt with serious health issues, including two knee replacement surgeries resulting from past motorcycle accidents that left him wheelchair-bound. Initially announced on the advice of his doctors retirement from touring In 2020.

However, Di’Anno, who did not receive royalties for Iron Maiden songs during his departure, instead formed a new band called Warhorse with Czech musicians Ante Pupačić and Hrvoje Madiraca. Di’Anno returned to live performances with Warhorse, and the trio released their self-titled debut album in July of this year.

That same month, Di’Anno also had this chance: Meeting Bruce Dickinson for the first time following the latter’s solo concert in Zagreb, Croatia. Coincidentally, Di’Anno was nearby for a book signing event to promote the Warhorse album release.
