A&E’s ‘Cold Case Files: Grim Sleeper’ takes us back to the 1980s in the life of Lonnie Franklin Jr., aka Lonnie Franklin Jr. Brutal Sleeperand his brutal murders instilled a sense of terror in the residents of South Central Los Angeles. But of the dozens of victims he claimed over the course of 25 years, only one survived: Enietra Washington. Even though he is in the series, there will definitely be questions in the minds of the audience about his whereabouts and other aspects of his life.

Enietra Washington is the Grim Sleeper’s Sole Survivor

Born in Hollywood, California, in the early 1960s, Enietra Margette Washington grew up in a so-called supportive family and attended St. Louis in Los Angeles. He attended Eugene Catholic School. He finished high school at Inglewood High School and then reportedly moved to New Orleans for higher education. There he attended Southern University in New Orleans and received his degree. Although she was raised a Catholic, Enietra converted to a traditional Baptist later in life. In the 1980s, the city of Los Angeles saw an exponential increase in gruesome murders of African American women and sex workers.

I Survived a Serial Killer

At the same time, Enietra, a lifelong resident of South Los Angeles, was a mother of two. On the night of November 19, 1988, an unexpected and traumatic event occurred that changed his life forever. That night, while walking alone to one of his friends’ house, Lonnie D. Franklin Jr. A man named came up to him in an orange Ford Pinto and offered to take him away. It was unknown that Lonnie was a serial killer responsible for the murders of dozens of women in the South Los Angeles area. She initially rejected his offer, but reportedly got into his car after feeling sorry for him.

The next thing she knew, Lonnie was driving down a secluded alley and shot her in the chest as he pushed her out of the car. He reportedly sexually assaulted and photographed her before leaving her to die. But he was soon taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance and treated for his gunshot wound. Although he was shot at close range, the bullet was deflected by his ribs and sternum and his internal organs were completely lost. He was hospitalized for three weeks, but eventually survived the brutal attack on him and lived to tell the tale, becoming the only known survivor of the serial killer. His survival and testimony turned out to be vital to the capture of Lonnie, also known as the “Ruthless Sleeper”, in 2010.

Enietra Helped Bring Serial Killer to Justice and Is Now Living a Peaceful Life with Her Family

At her trial in 2016, Enietra Washington testified against Lonnie, calling her out: “My name is Enietra Margette (Washington) and I am one of your little pickups. You are truly a devil. You’re with Manson. The painful part about this is that you did this to yourself. “You ruined my life out of fear of the people I should be proud of.” She concluded: “But you blackmailed me and took that away from me because I’m a Black woman, knowing that I should respect you. So how can I give that to someone else? So now that you’ve taken it for yourself, how will your family give it to you?”

His statements and a significant amount of incriminating evidence against him helped the jury reach a guilty verdict against him. He was also convicted of the attempted murder of Enietra. He was sentenced to death for his crimes on August 10, 2016. Since that day, Enietra Washington has lived with a sense of relief and closure. In addition to ‘Cold Case Files’, the survivor also appeared in many documentaries such as ‘Tales of the Grim Reaper’, ‘Mind of a Monster’, ‘Becoming Evil: Serial Killers’, ‘The Mark of a Killer’. ,’ ‘I Survived a Serial Killer,’ and ‘The Serial Killer Capital: Los Angeles.’

As of today, she still lives in Los Angeles, California and is a mother of three children. In addition to his children, he also loves his two grandchildren very much. On the professional front, she reportedly has a lot of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having served as a certified pharmacy technician, certified nursing assistant, private on-call care, and registered emergency room attendant. In his spare time, he likes to sing his favorite songs and spend time with his loved ones.
