Cast’s John Power shared in a statement: “I was blown away by the reunion. Oasis are the voice of a generation and the songs they wrote and sang were and still are the soundtrack of many people’s dreams. They are the people’s group.”

Power also touched on his friendship with the Gallagher brothers, saying: “I’ve known Noel and Liam for years, we go way back. It’s been a bit of a journey, a bit of a journey. As a fan, I felt and recognized their music personally. “It inspired me as a songwriter, expanding the entire scene like never before and reaching far beyond the stratosphere.”

The Liverpudlian later discussed the seismic impact of Oasis, adding: “Everything has changed. We were all part of it and we will all be part of it. I’m looking forward to revisiting my family’s Irish roots, especially when the tour comes to Dublin. Let the opening chords shine and shine next July.” let me

Notably, earlier this year Cast supported Liam Gallagher on tour as he celebrated the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ groundbreaking debut album. Definitely Maybe.

Furthermore, Power was a former member of The La’s, whom both Gallagher brothers cite as an inspiration.

Noel once said Absolute Radio: “He (Lee Mavers) only made one album, but if you’re only going to make one album in your life, make that album. He’s a great songwriter, lazy idiot, but we’ll put that aside. “The La’s were and still are one of my favorite bands.”

Meanwhile, when it was announced that he would be supporting Oasis, Ashcroft said: “As a fan from day one when the news of Oasis’ comeback was announced I was excited for many reasons. “I can say without exaggeration that Noel’s songwriting talent and Liam’s pure spirit as a frontman have inspired me to create some of my best work.”

The former Verve leader, who inspired Oasis’s ‘Cast No Shadow’, continued: “It was the perfection of ‘Live Forever’ that forced me to write my own song. They dared to be great, they made our dreams come true, and I will always remember those days with joy. It’s time to create more memories and I’m ready to bring it. See you next summer. Oasis have yet to announce who will join the Australian line-up but have confirmed Cage The Elephant as the support act for their North American tour.
