Stabbing investigation leads to ‘modified lockdown’ at Quincy school

The investigation is ongoing after the victim of a Quincy stabbing was found in Milton, authorities said.

According to Quincy Police Sergeant Patrick Faherty, officers responding to a stabbing that occurred around 8 a.m. in the North Quincy area learned that a victim had been taken to a hospital in Boston.

Quincy Catholic Academy on Hancock Street was placed on “modified lockdown” as a precaution because police were not sure exactly where the stabbing occurred, Faherty told reporters.

“All students and staff are safe,” Faherty said. “For now, we don’t know where the incident took place.”

Faherty said the school is monitoring the situation and updates will be provided to parents as the situation develops.

The victim, whose name was not released, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. It was not yet clear how they came to be in Milton.
