Parts of KwaZulu-Natal should brace for severe storms next weekend.

South Africa Weather The Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for parts of the state starting Saturday, November 16.

Hail and heavy showers are expected

SAWS also predicted small hail and heavy showers for parts of KZN.

In the statement made by SAWS, it was said that “severe storms, extreme lightning, large amounts of small hail and heavy showers are expected in the central and western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.”

Dannhauser hit by severe storms

While SAWS has issued a warning for Saturday, the small town of Dannhauser in northern KwaZulu-Natal has already experienced small hail and severe storms on Friday (November 15).

The adverse weather conditions in the evening cut off the electricity of the entire town.

“It rained heavily for over an hour. Small hailstones were falling before the lighting cut the power,” said Anthony Pillay.

“After 18 hours, power was restored to some parts of the city, but many areas are currently without power.”

Isolated showers are expected in some provinces

Although KZN will be hardest hit, the rest of the country will also experience showers this weekend.

For GautengWhile a slight chance of rain is expected on Saturday, heavy thunderstorms are expected throughout the day on Sunday.

Mpumalanga and a storm is expected in Limpopo on Saturday evening.

Western Cape and Eastern Cape It will not rain at all, but the opposite will happen. Due to the heat wave, high temperatures will be experienced in both provinces.
