The cause of death of two people was drowning

Nov. 15—Elkhart County Prosecutor Mervin Miller on Wednesday in St. The cause of death of two men found submerged in a pickup truck in the St. Joseph River was determined to be drowning.

Autopsies were performed Friday morning on Theo Bean, 30, of Elkhart, and Tireno Washington, 39, of Bristol.

Miller said the drowning was caused by being trapped in the submerged vehicle. The manner of death was accidental, he said in a press release.

Elkhart County deputies responded to St. Louis on Wednesday at 3:46 p.m. They reported discovering a 2018 Ram 150 pickup truck in St. Joseph River.

Officers say the truck was driven by Bean and Ind. He guessed it ran from the north side of 120 West, near CR 19, down a ditch and into the river.

Their families had reported the two men missing since Sunday.

Garcia Becerra was complaining of chest pain. His passenger, Jorge Isaac Garcia Becerra, 1, Goshen, had a headache. They were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.

Garcia Rojas had lower leg pain and back pain. He was taken to Gökçen Hospital for treatment.

Garcia Becerra allegedly never had a valid driver’s license, drove without insurance and ignored a stop sign.

Garcia Rojas was cited for never having a valid driver’s license.

Goşen woman injured in accident

Friday at 11:22 a.m. two miles south of Goshen, Ind. A Goshen woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 15 and CR 142.

According to Elkhart County deputies, a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 19-year-old Kyle Schwartz of Millersburg, Ind., traveled westbound on CR 142 and stopped for a stop sign, but then pulled out of Ind. —A 30-year-old Goshen man was arrested by Goshen police at 5:12 p.m. Thursday on a theft charge and later released at the scene on a written promise to appear in court. The man was arrested at Walmart, 2304 Lincolnway East.

— A 49-year-old Goshen man was arrested by Elkhart County deputies following a crash on Old CR 17, south of CR 18, Wednesday at 9:08 p.m. The man was the driver of a vehicle that hit the police department. , said the police. The man was allegedly drunk and was arrested and jailed on charges of driving under the influence – endangerment.

—A 27-year-old Elkhart man was arrested at 8:21 a.m. Thursday by Elkhart County deputies in the 29000 block of CR 22 on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Elkhart County Jail. .

A 72-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Oct. 20 and Nov. 4, someone cashed three fraudulent checks totaling $5,882 from his account.
