Seattle mass stabbing suspect charged, committed 9 crimes in past decade: documents

SEATTLEMan Accused of stabbing at least four people He was formally charged with multiple assault charges in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District last week.

Roland Jerome Lee, 37, is accused of stabbing four different people and attacking a fifth person on Nov. 8. Seattle Police are still trying to determine if Lee is connected to this incident. several other stabbings The incident occurred in the region a day ago.

King County prosecutors argued Lee posed an extreme danger to the community. A judge ordered his detention $2 million bail.

Although he did not appear before the judge, Lee’s uncle was present in the courtroom, claiming that he had suffered a mental breakdown and wanted to apologize to the victims.

Seattle Police said witnesses and surveillance video helped detectives identify Lee as the suspect.

A man reportedly saw the suspect stab one of the victims in the back four times near 10th Avenue South and South Jackson Street, according to court documents. The suspect then allegedly ran toward 10th Street, began walking calmly, and stabbed three other people standing at 12th Street and Jackson.

Surveillance video of the incident shows a suspect dressed in all black walking past the group, pausing, and quickly swinging toward the back of one of the victims. The suspect then walks away from the camera; Meanwhile, police believe he also attacked the other two victims.

One of the victims told detectives that while he was talking to his friend, he suddenly felt a hard blow to his back and a sharp pain in his abdomen and leg, causing him to fall to the ground. The victim recalled seeing the suspect walking away and noticed that the soles of his shoes were a “sea foam green” color. Police said Lee’s soles were greenish in color.

The victim said “the pain blinded him” and he eventually lost consciousness.

Court documents included a photo of a knife with a broken handle, allegedly on the victim’s back. The victim told police the knife “entered his spinal cord” and caused numbness in his left leg, leaving him unable to move without a walker.

Another victim was stabbed in the neck. A man also reported that the suspect hit him in the face.

Lee was arrested in a parking lot after witnesses provided police with a description and location of the suspect. Officers said they found two knives near where Lee was arrested and blood was found on his shoes.

Police have not yet bonded Lee several other stabbings The incident occurred on November 7 in the Chinatown-International District. These stabbings are still under investigation. There were a total of 10 stabbing incidents in 36 hours.

Lee also has nine felony convictions in the past decade, including motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, attempted robbery and attempted burglary. He is currently charged with four counts of first-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree assault.

The suspect’s uncle said Lee was still a good person despite his criminal history.

“I talked to Roland and he said he didn’t remember doing anything. But, you know, it’s on video, he has witnesses and everything,” Lee’s uncle said. “Roland was at my house a week ago. That night, Thursday. Before the stabbings started, Roland texted me and said he went to my house to take a shower. We were going to have a nice day together. I’m not doing it.” “I don’t know what happened, I don’t know if he was on medication that would make him crazy, but Roland is a good person.”

Lee is scheduled to enter a plea on Nov. 27 at the King County Courthouse.
