The Tampa Bay Rays will play in a ballpark owned by the New York Yankees next season.

Steinbrenner Field has the largest Spring Training capacity in the area at 11,000, according to the Rays, and the field is currently undergoing renovations to improve the clubhouse and facilities. Additional improvements will be made prior to the season to “ensure fans continue to have a great experience at Rays games.”

The Yankees will continue to use Steinbrenner Field for Spring Training in 2025, while the Rays will use Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida, for spring training and games.

“We deeply appreciate the Yankees graciously allowing us to play at Steinbrenner Field during the 2025 season,” Rays Principal Owner Stuart Sternberg said.

“Just as Hurricanes Helene and Milton forced thousands of families and businesses in our community to adapt to new conditions as we all heal and rebuild, the hurricane’s damage to Tropicana Field has forced us to take some extraordinary steps.”

The Rays will become the second team to play their home games in a minor league ballpark next year.

Track and field will be played at Sutter Health Park – Home of Minor League Baseball club the Sacramento Rivers Cats – for the 2025-2027 seasons while the organization awaits construction of a stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
