Cincinnati man pleads guilty to charges in newborn baby’s death

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A Cincinnati man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection with the death of a newborn baby, according to Hamilton County Court records.

Records show that on Nov. 13, 19-year-old Khamani Calvin-Bridges pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

Hamilton District Court Judge Patrick Dinkelacker sentenced Calvin-Bridges to 12 years in prison.

Open September 17, 2022First responders found 1-month-old Ukhani Bridges unresponsive at a home on Elberon Avenue, according to a news release from the Cincinnati Police Department.

The newborn was taken from the home in East Price Hill to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and died on October 27, 2022.

Calvin-Bridges, who was 17 at the time, was arrested the same day after the baby’s death and charged with aggravated assault, police said.
