No matter which version of the movie is your favorite, Orchard House, the March family home, is a rustic cabin that embodies the charm of autumn in Concord, Massachusetts. This house was also where Louisa May Alcott lived, and today it is a museum you can visit.

To give your own home the same rustic appeal, look out for vintage pieces and decorate with natural materials. And don’t be afraid to use what you have. This living room by designer Margo Roth does that very well; The vintage chair, mantel-hanging baskets, and numerous stacks of books dotted around provide a series of cozy layers that make this space feel lived-in, cozy, and incredibly inviting.
