Businesswoman Ms Lawson was traveling to the Portuguese capital on Monday for a technology conference with other delegates from Manchester.

He confirmed that the sick man was “absolutely fine” and managed to get up and enter the plane, and praised the midfielder for his composure during the incident.

“I guess I just thought, ‘Oh my God, what are the chances of someone being badly right when the captain of Manchester United is standing right in front of you?’ “it was,” he said.

“What a lovely guy. He did it and didn’t make a big deal of it. The referees called for help and help came.”

Shortly after landing, Ms Lawson took a selfie with Fernandes and Manchester United teammate Diogo Dalot, who was also on board.

“I basically said to Bruno, ‘It was really nice what you did there, it was great that you were there to help,'” he said.

“It’s nice to be reminded that (celebrities) are just normal people out there.”

Even though he is a Manchester City fan, he said he was “pretty excited” when he saw Fernandes boarding the plane.

“The funny thing is that we are a blue family; we support Manchester City,” he said.
