Fargo City Commission to consider revised turn signal ordinance

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – Fargo Municipal Code requires motor vehicle operators to signal only if their turns or merges affect other vehicles. North Dakota law requires turning or merging drivers to signal in all turning and merging situations.

In light of this, the City Commission on Monday directed the City Attorney’s Office to draft revisions to the Fargo Municipal Code to make the City code consistent with North Dakota law on when signals are needed.

City Commissioners will consider and potentially take action on the revisions at a future meeting.

North Dakota’s turn signal law was updated during the 2023 legislative session. You can read our previous report about this. Here.
