He was arrested for theft by not complying with the protection order

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO. (KFVS) – A 26-year-old Caruthersville man is accused of breaking into a home and violating a protective order on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

According to a probable cause statement, James E. Heathcock went to a home in Caruthersville around 12:30 a.m. to ask a person who had been ordered to stay away by the court to delete something on his phone.

The victim told officers Heathcock took his phone to retrieve the item, closed and locked the door, and asked them not to file a protective order.

The victim then told Heathcock to leave and he did.

Officers later arrested Heathcock for violating a protective order on first-degree burglary and first-offense adult charges.

Heathcock was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center, where he is being held without bail.
