Police said three masked attackers entered the store. One of them pulled out a gun and shot an unarmed security guard in the face with a gun.

All three male attackers then left the store. That’s when someone outside pulled out a gun and shot one of the suspects, a 60-year-old man, police said.

The 60-year-old suspect was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. Officers seized a gun from the man and he was held in police custody at the hospital.

Charges are pending and Second Precinct detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information.
