Wanted murder suspect arrested after Horry County traffic stop

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A man wanted for murder in Horry County is behind bars.

An officer with the Horry County Police Department pulled over a speeding car on Highway 501 in the Conway area around 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

The officer searched the car and found 14 grams of weed, 2 grams of meth and a loaded gun, according to the police report.

HCPD arrested 25-year-old Jamison Chambers on drug distribution charges and charged another man. The agency learned Chambers was wanted out of Chesterfield County for murder.

Chambers was one of several people charged in the fatal 2017 home invasion in Chesterfield County. Our sister station WBTV reports.

This isn’t the first time a traffic stop has led to Chambers being jailed again.

WBTV reports The Monroe Police Department arrested Chambers during a traffic stop in July 2024.

Jail records show Chambers is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $10,000 bail.
