Darren Donaldson: Ice hockey player jailed for raping teenage girl he was sleeping with | UK News

An ice hockey player who raped a teenage girl in his car after a sleepover has been jailed.

Darren Donaldson, 19, attacked the girl, who was extremely drunk and unable to consent.

Donaldson, Dyce aberdeenHe was 17 at the time of the serious sexual assault in August 2022.

The court heard how he first met his victim, who was under 16, through friends and Dundee ice hockey team-mates.

On the night of the attack, Donaldson went to the house where the girl was staying but was not allowed inside.

The Crown Office and Prosecutor Fiscal Service (COPFS) said due to his level of intoxication the victim was put to bed by friends a short time later.

But Donaldson then took the girl from the property and went to an address in Perth and Kinross where he raped her. He then took the victim to his friend’s house.

COPFS said the girl woke up the next day and began having flashbacks before the incident was reported to police. Scotland.

Donaldson denied any wrongdoing but was found guilty of rape following a Supreme Court trial in September. Edinburgh.

Katrina Parkes, Scotland’s prosecuting attorney for sexual offenses at the high court, said: “Darren Donaldson took advantage of a young girl who had no ability or ability to give consent.

“He will now face the consequences of his actions following this prosecution and conviction.”
