Pakistan’s white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan is confident of winning the upcoming T20 international series in Australia and is also trying to acquit the home team.

Rizwan-led Pakistan team surprised everyone by winning a one-day series in Australia for the first time since 2002 after the Australian team management decided to rest five of their senior players for the decider in Perth.

While the Australian team has come under criticism from former players for resting its players in a crucial match, Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley has also expressed his disappointment with the results.

Pakistan’s white-ball coach Jason Gillispie said it was disappointing to see CA not promoting the Pakistan-Australia series adequately.

Rizwan said that if the Pakistan team plays as a unit, they will have a chance of clearing Australia in the T20 series.

“It’s okay that we celebrated the ODI series win because no one in Australia expected us to win. But at the same time, all players should remember that they are ambassadors of Pakistan and should always conduct themselves appropriately during the tour,” Rizwan said in the dressing room video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday. he told the players in his pep talk.

“I think we should all try to win big championships like World Cups and Champions Trophy to show everyone what Pakistan cricket can do,” he added.

Rizwan said that it is time for the team to set new records in every country they tour in the future.

“The record of not winning anywhere for years needs to end,” he added.

He said that as captain he consulted every player and official in the team to ensure clarity before making any decision.
