CINCINNATI — Cincinnati police say “nothing alarming” was found when crews responded to a suspicious bag reported in the Rhine River Monday night.

Police and fire crews closed the intersection of Vine and 13th Street to traffic upon the notice of a suspicious bag in the area.

The Cincinnati Fire Department said they closed Vine Street from 12 to 14 and between Race and Walnut for the investigation. Police evacuated four buildings near the intersection and reported that people in the immediate area could hear a “firework-like sound” as bomb technicians worked in the area.

Authorities did not say what was found, but said the area was “completely clear” and nothing of concern was found.
