Outer Banks Season 4 Volume 2 Just Released, But I Already Have Theories About Season 5

massively Outer Banks fan, I knew Season 4 Volume 2 was going to be a wild ride when it came out Netflix’s premiere schedule after Volume 1 left the Pogues in some of the worst spots they’ve ever been. I’m hopeful for the next five episodes.But unfortunately I couldn’t see any of what I wanted to happen. Instead, the Pogues lost one of their own in one of the most tragic deaths in any teen drama series, leaving the group of friends vowing revenge as the credits roll.

Even though I’m still trying to process everything that’s happened, my mind is already forming theories about what will happen in the future. already renewed Season 5.

The Pogues will have second thoughts about how to avenge JJ

After losing JJ the hands of his biological father GroffThe Pogues and Rafe can be seen burying JJ’s body in an unmarked grave in the Moroccan desert. Rafe is the first to speak and tells the group that if the murdered person had been his friend, he would have taken revenge on the murderer. John B and Pope agree, and the season ends with Kie vowing revenge on Groff.

In the heat of the moment, this plan makes total sense. The Pogues are devastated by this loss, and the most logical way to overcome this pain is to go after the man who caused them this pain. But no matter how much they hate Groff, none of them are born killers.

Season 4 has shown us time and time again that John B. has trouble pulling the trigger because worried about becoming a father. And sure, Pope may have killed Lighting in the final episode, but in the aftermath it’s clear that wasn’t a decision he felt good about, even if it meant everything to Cleo.

Kie doesn’t have the heart of a killer either, and while I think he’ll come close to killing Groff, I don’t think he’ll pull the trigger. In fact, I think JJ’s voice will appear in his head and JJ will talk him out of it because he never wanted anyone to risk their lives at his expense.

Ultimately, I don’t think the Pogues actually killed Groff because it goes against everything they stand for. However, it is not possible to say the same for Rafe. Given his desire to make the Pogues trust him and his on-again, off-again dynamic with Kie, he may be the one to save the day by giving the Pogues what they want without sinking them to such malevolent levels.

Life in Kildare Will Get Worse Without MV Pogues

As tensions between the Kooks and the Pogues reached an all-time high in Kildare, the Kooks sought to reshape The Cut and make it an area where they could all live and hang out. John B and his gang may be young adults, but they’ve always been at the center of defending the Pogues and their rights. Once they’re gone for who knows how long, there’s no one to stand up to similar developers to preserve the land.

There is also clearly tension between Kooks and the police department headed by Sheriff Shoupe. Since Shoupe’s standing with the town’s wealthy residents is already unclear, he will likely lose his job when they find out that he let the Pogues go instead of arresting them.

While the position is open, I can see the town choosing the officer who tried to shoot JJ in Episode 6 to take the Sheriff’s position since he clearly sided with the Kooks. A corrupt police force and the Kooks with uncontrolled power seem like a recipe for disaster.

New Group Dynamics Will Emerge as You Catch Groff

With JJ gone and Sarah pregnant, the Pogues will likely see a shift in group dynamics. Even though Sarah has spent most of this season risking her life and babies to get her hands on the treasure, I can’t see that trend continuing once she starts showing up. John B will be torn between wanting to go after Groff and wanting to be there for Sarah. It’s unlikely the Pogues would want to leave Sarah alone where they decided it was safe enough. This will likely cause tension between the four as they have different approaches to finding Groff and getting revenge. The Show Will End Happily With a Time Jump Years into the Future
