Service members honored at joint Bryan-College Station Veterans Day event

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Two Bryan-College Station businesses teamed up for a pinning ceremony at the Veterans Day event on Monday.

Extraordinary Hospice and Parc at Traditions honored nearly 30 Veterans with commemorative pins and certificates. The event also gave Veterans the opportunity to share their stories and pray.

Michael Burchett served in the military for 23 years. He served in the military for 13 years and worked as an operations research analyst for 10 years. Burchett told KBTX he was honored to be recognized with this award.

“A lot of people didn’t make it, and I know some of them,” Burchett said. “It’s nice to remember and be remembered.”

Hugh James Hall, senior, served in the army for 40 years and five months. Regardless of branch, he said he and other Veterans share an unbreakable bond.

“Some of us had similar assignments with other Vietnam veterans, and I think the common bond was just starting to form,” Hall added.
