King Charles will lead the nation to commemorate those killed in the military operation at the Cenotaph in central London.

The King will be joined by other members of the Royal Family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, at the National Remembrance Service, but Queen Camilla, who is suffering from a chest infection, will not be attending.

The service honors the contributions of servicemen and women, military and civilian, in World War I and World War II, as well as other conflicts.

Remembrance Sunday events, which will be celebrated on the Sunday closest to Armistice Day, will be held across the country and a two-minute silence will be observed. A memorial ceremony was held at 11:00 to commemorate those who died.
