A new church for university students is to be built on an industrial site in Preston.

City council planners have approved the development of a unit at Moor Park Court, off St George’s Road in Deepdale, into a new base for The Potters House Christian Fellowship.

This will be the second community base the evangelical church has established in Preston, joining the existing facility on Garstang Road since 2010.

The association says many expected worshipers live within walking distance of the new site.

He expects “the majority of congregations to be made up of college students.”

About 85 people are expected to attend Sunday morning services, while about 40 people are expected to attend Wednesday and Sunday evening services.

Worshipers will be able to benefit from the existing 28-car parking lot.
