Students are being asked to design a ceremonial mace to represent the Fenton area of ​​Stoke-on-Trent.

The city council decided to work with Staffordshire University on the project as part of the city’s centenary celebrations.

Fenton is one of six towns which were amalgamated in 1910 to form the city later known as the city of Stoke-on-Trent in 1925, although it currently has no chain of offices or ceremonial mace.

Designs will be evaluated in early 2025 and will be presented to Fenton in April as part of the city’s civilian uniforms.
