NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — South Carolina moved up to No. 24 as Raheim Sanders rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns and made a 43-yard TD catch. vanderbilt 28-7 Saturday is the Gamecocks’ second straight win against a Top 25 team.

The Commodores have now lost 16 in a row against their former SEC East Division rivals. To make matters worse, this was their biggest defeat this season after losing their first three games by a combined 10 points; two of these points belonged to teams in the Top 10.

LaNorris Sellers helped South Carolina Possession control against a Vanderbilt offense leads to SEC on time of possession. Sellers threw for 238 yards and two TDs. Joshua threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Simon to give the Gamecocks a 7-0 halftime lead.

South Carolina started the third quarter with a 14-0 lead after Sellers evaded a potential sack and found Jared Brown for a 51-yard completion. Sanders ran 33 yards for the TD and took a double-digit lead.

Diego Pavia, AP’s best transfer of the first year Midway through the season in the SEC, he tried to rally Vanderbilt, trailing 14-7 after a 17-yard TD run in the third.

Sanders’ 1-yard TD late in the third and a 43-yard TD catch with 7:55 left put the game on ice.

Pavia threw for 166 yards and added 65 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He was injured with about 6:40 remaining on a 28-yard completion and was wiped out due to offensive pass interference.

Survey results

This will end Vanderbilt’s second week in the Top 25, but South Carolina managed to break into the rankings.
