13 injured on double-decker bus in serious bus crash in Manchester | UK News

One person on the upper floor was rescued by fire crews by bus.

Although 13 people required hospital treatment after the crash, police said none of the injuries were serious.

While emergency services were dispatched to the scene, the road full of debris remained closed this morning.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: ‘At around 8.45am this morning (Saturday 9 November), two fire engines from Phillips Park and Broughton fire stations were called to a crash involving two buses on Rochdale Road, Manchester. .

‘Crews arrived quickly and worked with Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service to secure the area.

Fire crews rescued one person from the upper deck of the bus and 13 injured people were transported to North Manchester General Hospital under the care of the North West Ambulance Service.

‘Fire crews were there for over an hour.’
