Two people were hospitalized after being hit by a car Wednesday night.

The Barrie Police Department reported receiving a call about the incident at Mapleton Boulevard and Veterans Way around 6:15 p.m.

Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital, one with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Gaziler Avenue was closed between Caplan Boulevard and Harvie Road while the traffic unit investigated the crash scene.

The investigation is still ongoing.
