Important candidates are expected to attend the Yellow Jackets-Miami match

Georgia Tech may have one of the best atmospheres in college football on Saturday. Coach Key tells all the students to come and Big Boi will perform at 10:00am before the Yellow Jackets face the Hurricanes. Many famous names are expected to attend the Yellow Jackets’ No. 4 game in Miami.

Georgia Tech Commitments

Spruce Creek DL Derry “Chuck Norris Jr”– Norris has been the Hawks’ defensive force this season. He leads the team with 78 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. There are numerous D1 college programs seeking his services. Norris is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 64 defender, the No. 73 player in Florida and the No. 584 player nationally, according to the 247sports Composite. Georgia Tech is trying to hold on to that commitment, with many programs trying to turn it around.

Lancaster OL Kevin Peay– Peay is a three-star prospect and is rated as South Carolina’s No. 130 interior offensive lineman and No. 29 player. Peay helps solidify a strong veteran offensive line class that includes five-star Josh Petty and four-star Justin Hasenhuetl. The Lancaster product has been a lock for the Yellow Jackets since June 9. He has made some visits to other programs but will return to the Flats for the game against Miami.

In-state hiring

2025

Buford WR Jordan Allen… Allen has been unstoppable this season in 6A, the highest classification in Georgia High School football. He recently had 174 receiving yards and three touchdowns in a district championship win over rival Mill Creek. Come signing day, Allen will be a name to continue watching. It’s currently affiliated with Louisville but not too far from the Flats. He received an offer from the Yellow Jackets on October 14. It will be interesting to see how hard Georgia Tech pushes him. Allen definitely fits the offense and his speed fits the offense perfectly.

McIntosh EDGE Evan Ward- Ward finished this season as the second player with the most steals on the team with 83 balls. He also finished this season with a team-high 11 sacks. The USF commit also had two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and six quarterback hurries. He was one of the standout players this season and caused havoc in opposition backfields.

2026

Carrollton WR Ryan Mosley– Mosley is a four-star prospect who continues to improve each season and currently has 27 offers. He received an offer from Georgia Tech in March. The junior standout has 597 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. His best game this season was against Gainesville, when he threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Mosley provides defensive fits with his ability to stretch the field and stretch the field after the catch in 2024.

West Forsyth QB Max Walraven-Walraven is probably one of the most underrated candidates on this list, but call him Mr. Consistent. That’s what he did for West Forsyth this season, throwing for 1,813 yards and 18 touchdowns. His best game of the season was against Forsyth Central, where he completed 70% of his passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns. I had the chance to watch him in the season opener against Prince Avenue Christian and was impressed with his ability to never back down in the face of adversity and continue to lead his team. They fell short, but Walraven put on a great performance all night. He led the Wolverines back to the postseason and they will face Brookwood in the first round of the playoffs.

Newnan LB Rodney Colton- The South Carolina team will be on hand to control the action. Colton led the resurgence of the Newnan program, which earned a No. 2 seed in the 5A playoffs. Colton has 43 tackles, four sacks and one interception this season. Colton is one of the best linebackers in the country and has just about every Power 4 offer a potential player could want.

Cambridge WR Hudson Cocchiara-II have a feeling this kid is about to explode in the recruiting world. Cocchiara finished the junior season strong with 48 catches (leading the team), 868 receiving yards and eight touchdowns for the Bears this season. He was a constant threat in the passing game this season. He is a YAC (yards after the catch) monster that will make any offense better, whether at the high school or college level. He is also a deep threat who can take over the top of the defense. He had his best game of the season against Westminster. Cocchiara had six catches for 151 yards and three touchdowns, all season highs. This is a name you may see receiving more offers during the winter and spring months.

Cambridge WR Craig Dandridge- Dandridge is the thunder that corresponds to Cocchiara’s lightning. They are a dynamic duo that complement each other well. It’s really hard to slow them both down. Dandridge has 40 catches for 977 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He was a consistent threat for Cambridge all season long, averaging 108 yards per game. His best game this season was against Centennial. Dandridge has one kickoff return for a touchdown, seven catches for 221 yards and three touchdowns. He was absolutely unstoppable. Dandridge is one of those underrated prospects looking for an opportunity that could make a big splash at the next level.

Lovejoy LB Chad Fairchild- Fairchild was a regular visitor to the Flats throughout the spring and summer. Fairchild is rated as a four-star prospect on Rivals and is known for his ability to fill gaps, get downhill and make big hits on running backs. One part of his game that has improved is his ability to protect open space. He also has great instincts and can read a play before it happens and not let it start. Fairchild has played a key role on the Wildcats’ defensive end this season.

Milton L. B. Gage Lawrence Gage Lawrence plays for the undefeated Milton Eagles and plays behind the best linebackers in the state, Hayden Tumminia and AJ Benton. It continues to make its impact felt this season. Lawrence has 27 tackles, seven QB hurries and four tackles for loss. While they were there, he took advantage of opportunities and made big moves for Milton.

Carrollton LB CJ Gamble- Gamble is starting to make a name for himself not only on the football field, but also in the recruiting ranks. He is known for his big hits and excellent football IQ. He has been a consistent performer for the Trojans this season and has made plays all season long. Gamble recently received an offer from USF, bringing his total to eight. This is a name you can see creating more excitement for himself heading into the playoffs and offseason.

South Paulding OL Jayce Sanker- This is the offensive lineman’s third time on campus this year, with visits in the early spring, summer and now fall. Sanker continues to improve his relationship with offensive line coach Geep Wade. Sanker has an offer from UNC Charlotte and has been on the Jackets’ radar due to his constant presence in the apartments.

2027

Stephenson EDGE KJ Green- Green is one of the top players in the 2027 class and is already rated highly by 247Sports. Green is a five-star prospect, ranked No. 6 in the EDGE, No. 6 in Georgia and No. 27 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. He finished the regular season with 28 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Green is elite at dominating the run game while also rushing the passer with his multitude of carries. Green currently has 11 offers and received one from the Yellow Jackets in September. He is a disruptor and will be someone to keep an eye on throughout his career.

Prince Avenue Christian OL Gabe Prince- Prince is a key offensive lineman for Prince Avenue Christian and has grown a lot since his freshman year, from 6’5, 240 pounds to 6’3.5 and 270 pounds. He’s already blocked against some good defenders like Georgia Tech’s Carrington Coombs and DJ Jacobs. Prince is a key player on the Wolverines’ offensive line and continues to improve this season.

Prince Avenue Christian ATH Andrew Beard- In a district-clinching win over Hebron Christian, Beard rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown. He also had two catches for 51 yards and a receiving touchdown. Beard was energetic all season long and rushed for 1,451 yards and 15 touchdowns before heading into the playoffs. Simply put, Beard was one of the best and most versatile running backs in the country and a standout player in the Prince Avenue Christian offense. He can also play safety a bit. Just call him a ball player.

Calhoun QB Trace Hawkins-There’s no underestimating what the true freshman has done for the Yellow Jackets this season. Last year, he took the teams back to the play-offs as regional champions after missing the play-offs for the first time since 1999. He had several standout performances at the start of the season, including a big win over Northeast Whitfield; here he made 265 passes and five goals. Hawkins is a name that could become a big name in the state of Georgia, especially if he can get Calhoun into a deep playoff run as a true freshman. He has all the tools and intangibles to do this.

Collins Hill QB Makyree Cross- Cross was a first-year starter for the Collins Hill Eagles this year and has made great strides as a point guard for the Eagles. He finished the regular season with 1,272 yards passing and 11 touchdowns. I had the chance to see him up close this season in an important district win against Mill Creek. My impression was that he took what the defense gave him and made big plays when called upon, helping Collins Hill knock off Mill Creek. Cross showed that he could be the signal caller for the Eagles over the next few years and turn them into a dangerous team.

Buford DB Ethan Hauser- Hauser is a standout linebacker who has interest from several college programs. He is frequently on the Flats and continues to be associated with the Yellow Jackets. He has been a key special teams player for the Buford Wolves this season and will play a larger role on the team next season. He is an instinctive defender who runs the ball well and is also good at making plays in the run game. Hauser will be a name to watch for the next few years.

2028

Grayson EDGE Ismael Schiefer- You really have to be into Grayson to know this name because it flies under the radar in terms of media coverage. Now, Schiefer already has nine offers as a true freshman, along with a few notable offers from USC, Auburn, South Carolina, Texas A&M and others.

Peach County OL Hunter Hill- Hunter Hill is only a freshman, but he’s already become a problem. He stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 310 pounds, and when you take a look at his X account, you can see him destroying defenders on the interior. He is young but already knows the game well and has made his impact felt this season. Hill is a name that could be among the best offensive players in the country in the next few years. Additionally, his team, Peach County, is coming off its second district title in the last three years and looks set to be a state champion in the coming years.
