Netanyahu’s office condemned the attacks and called the incident “horrible”. “The Prime Minister considers this terrible incident with great seriousness and demands that the Dutch government and security forces act decisively and quickly against the rioters and ensure the safety of our citizens,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

The attacks allegedly took place in Amsterdam on Thursday night; where many Israeli fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv were targeted ahead of the team’s match. ‘According to local media reports, including NL Times, chaos broke out in Dam Square when a group of people shouted pro-Palestinian slogans and threw fireworks and flares. Some Israeli fans suffered minor injuries, while at least 10 people were detained for crimes including disturbing the peace.

Additionally, the Daily Mail reported that Israeli fans tore down Palestinian flags and directed offensive slogans at Palestinian fans. Images taken from the scene show large-scale clashes in the streets between two groups of fans.
