One person was killed and another injured in two shooting attacks carried out by three men within 10 minutes in different areas of northeast Delhi, police said on Saturday.

According to a senior police officer, the accused first shot at a person in Welcome’s Kabir Nagar around 1 am, looted his car and drove it to a place in neighboring Jyoti Nagar and opened fire on a house.

In the first incident, Nadeem (alias Bobby) and Shahnawaz suffered bullet injuries, while in the second incident, no one was harmed. Police said the two injured were taken to the hospital where Nadeem was declared dead, while Shahnawaz was recovering.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Rakesh Paweriya said the three suspects were nabbed and interrogated.

Police said they first received information about firing in Kabir Nagar and when the team was sent, they found three spent cartridges and a motorcycle on the roadside.

When the police investigated the situation, they found that the motorcycle belonged to the defendant, who left the motorcycle there and fled with the motorcycle belonging to one of the victims.

Another Firing Incident in Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar

Meanwhile, at 1:26 am, another PCR call was received from neighboring Jyoti Nagar area that three men had opened fire on a house.

The caller, identified as Rahul, said that the accused suddenly came and opened fire on his house, but no one was injured in the incident. Six spent cartridges and one live cartridge were found at the scene.

Another officer said the accused were later nabbed from the same area.

The accused is suspected to have a financial dispute with Nadeem to the tune of Rs 10,000. They wanted to target him, but Shahnawaz also suffered a bullet injury in his leg as he was standing nearby.

The interrogation continues to determine the exact reason why the defendants fired from both places.

A murder case was registered at Welcome Police Station and an FIR was also registered at Jyoti Nagar.
