From the Boulevard to the museum exhibition in Torun

The first phase of archaeological work at the Holy Spirit complex on Philadelphia Avenue is coming to an end. What has been found so far has been documented and will be displayed in a photographic exhibition at the Regional Museum.

The photographs will present the architectural hypotheses discovered, the technical solutions used primarily for protection against floods, and the wooden structures at the Monastery Gate, most likely related to the earliest phase of the foundation of the church, monastery and hospital.

– Besides the sacred complex of the Holy Spirit, the discovered ruins of the use of this place in the 18th and 19th centuries (the so-called Little Fishermen) will be presented. We plan to display in showcases many of the moving monuments obtained during the research; for example, stone slabs from the hypocaust, shaped bricks, ceramic vessels, everyday objects. We will present the history of this place based on the “Chronicle of the Benedictine nuns of Toruń” against the background of the turbulent history of the Benedictine nuns. – explains Leszek Kucharski from the Department of Archeology at the Regional Museum in Toruń.

The exhibition opening is planned to be held in September/October 2025.

Post-plein-air exhibition 16. “Art Park” in Boleslawiec

The 16th Painting Plein Air “Art Park” was once again lucky enough to be held in the Kliczków Castle hotel complex near Bolesławiec.

Thanks to the cooperation and support of the Culture and Art Center in Wrocław, the Cultural Institution of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the Pro Culturae Bono Foundation and the Bolesławiec Cultural Center, the International Ceramics Centre.

10 artists from Lower Silesia and beyond were invited to participate. Artists who traditionally live and produce in the complex belonging to the Kliczków Castle Conference and Recreation Center benefited from the charm of the green areas of the Lower Silesian Forests and had the opportunity to visit the picturesque surroundings of the city of Bolesławiec. Learn about the history of the place and enjoy the charm of nature.

Plein Air is a place where you can have 10 artists, 10 representatives of different generations, 10 days of accommodation, 10 evenings, and long conversations about art and life. These days allowed you to gradually open up to each other, get to know each other, talk, be silent, observe “with impunity” and freely confront other artists. Working in the studio, as you can imagine, is about observing yourself at the level of your personal horizon. Meeting with 10 artists in a space outside the comfort zone of your own studio (not necessarily) allows for a broader exchange of perspectives, thoughts, images and experiences. A synergy is created between the group and the community. The curator of Plein Air is Krystyna Szczepaniak.

The culmination of plein air is an exhibition at the Bolesławiec Cultural Center – International Ceramics Centre, to the opening of which we cordially invite you on November 8, 2024 at 18:00. The works can be watched on “W sam”. You can visit the “raz” gallery during FORUM Cinema opening hours until 24 November 2024.
