The parents of the 15-year-old girl killed by her ex-boyfriend say no punishment will be enough to ease their pain.

Holly Newton was stalked and then stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend in Hexham, Northumberland, last January.

Logan MacPhail was jailed for at least 17 years for the murder at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday.

Holly’s mother, Micala Trussler, told BBC Breakfast that she wants the age limit at which a person can be legally recognized as a victim of domestic violence to be lowered.
