LEE Co., Iowa (KWQC) – One person is dead in an early morning crash in Lee County, Iowa.

Josue Alexander Boton Pinula, 24, of Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Iowa State Patrol crash report. The man was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.

According to a crash report, around 12:08 a.m. Saturday, the Iowa State Patrol responded to the intersection of Highway 218 and Highway 16.

According to the crash report, a 2017 white BMW was traveling westbound on Highway 16 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 218.

According to the crash report, a white 1995 Kenworth tractor trailer was traveling southbound on Highway 218 when it struck the BMW as it entered the southbound lanes at the intersection of Highway 218 and Highway 16.
