Tusuka Group today (November 3) closed its six ready-made garment (RMG) factories in Gazipur indefinitely following a strike by workers pushing for a 16-point draft of demands, including annual wage increases, bonus increases and allowances.

Md Abu Taleb, senior assistant superintendent of police of Gazipur Industrial Police-2 Konabari District, confirmed that the company had put up notices on the front doors of all six export-oriented factories in Konabari district, announcing their closure.

The factories comprise the company’s manufacturing units Tusuka Jeans Limited, Tusuka Trousers Limited and Tusuka Denim Limited, laundry units Tusuka Processing Limited and Tusuka Washing Limited, and packaging unit Tusuka Packaging Limited.


Moreover, Abu Taleb added that 18 other RMG factories in Kashimpur area of ​​the district have also declared a holiday today due to workers’ unrest.
