HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Thursday in northeast Houston.

The Houston Police Department responded to the 9800 block of Beaumont Highway near Liberty Road around 10:15 a.m. and found the person’s remains in a “decomposed” condition.

According to preliminary information, a crew mowing lawns made the discovery shortly before 10 a.m.

HPD said it is unknown if any foul play was involved.

Officials did not provide additional information.
