Chad Mullen’s family reported him missing on September 15. Investigators said Mullen’s cell phone last rang in that area, but no one ever heard from him.

On Monday, deputies investigating a tip began searching a property at 852 Federal Point Road in Hastings, about a quarter-mile from the Putnam County line.
