Raipur: A 36-year-old rape convict, who was released on parole, raped his 11-year-old daughter and 12-year-old nephew in Koriya district in northern Chhattisgarh. According to police, the defendant has a history of rape. According to his daughter, he sexually assaulted her at home on October 19 and threatened her with severe punishment if she told anyone about it.

Koriya SP Suraj Singh Parihar alleged that the accused took his nephew to the forest on October 21 under the garb of collecting firewood and then sexually assaulted her. And he threatened her.

Although they trusted each other, the two cousins ​​were so afraid that they did not dare to approach the authorities.

On Saturday they finally mustered up the courage to confront the police. Police said there were reports of gruesome sexual assaults by the convict, following which he would face charges under BNS and Pocso Act.

When the police realized they needed to bring the serial rapist back to prison as quickly as possible, they sent several teams to track him down. The defendant was referred to the courthouse and arrested. He was earlier imprisoned for a violent rape in Ambikapur Jall.
