RANKIN CO., Miss. (WLBT) – Authorities need your help locating a missing Hartfield Academy student.

John Michael Jones, 16, resides in Brandon, Mississippi.

He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a white T-shirt.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office said the department was notified today that Jones was missing from his home.

According to RCSO, there is no evidence of foul play at this time.

Jones struggled with depression after the deaths of his father and grandparents, the department said.

This caused his family to worry that he might be considering harming himself.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation for assistance in issuing a Purple Alert.
