Deputies said the car was hit by a bullet while driving on the road in LaFayette, and a woman was injured.

LaFayette, NY — A woman suffered minor injuries when a bullet struck the car she was riding in early Sunday morning in the town of LaFayette, deputies said.

Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tom Newton said deputies responded to a report of shots fired around 1 a.m. in the 3800 block of Apulia Road in LaFayette Township.

When officers arrived, multiple people in a vehicle on Apulia Road told deputies that something had hit their car while driving, Newton said. Authorities found that the front passenger side of the vehicle was damaged by a bullet.

A passenger in the vehicle suffered a minor cut to his leg, Newton said. It was stated that he was treated at the scene.
