Kedleston Hall remains closed due to water quality concerns

One of Derbyshire’s most famous stately homes will remain closed amid fears its water supply could be contaminated.

Kedleston Hall is closed to visitors since October 10 Research studies on water quality in the field continue.

The National Trust, which runs the 18th-century manor house, said it closed the site “as a precaution” after a routine check found its water may contain bacteria.

The trust said it still could not confirm when the property would reopen.

A spokesman said: “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank people for their patience while we work on this issue.

“We ask anyone planning to visit to check our website for updates.”
