Avon Lake eagles’ stars sighted, stripes still missing

The star duo of Avon Lake eagles, Stars and Stripes, were spotted Sunday afternoon, according to eagle watchers in a private Facebook group.

An eagle spotter posted on Facebook saying they knew the Stars were 100% OK.

On October 22, a new pair of eagles took over the eagle nest that Stars and Stripes has used for the past decade at Avon Lake.

The eagle watcher said Stars flew in around 4:40 p.m. and remained at the nest for about five minutes.

It is still unknown where the Stripes might be, but there is a possibility that they were trying to protect their home and gave up for some reason.
