Warming efforts continue in Arizona

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — Valley residents will expect morning lows in the 40s under clear skies.

The afternoon temperature is predicted to be 78 degrees, with sunshine and light winds expected throughout the next day. This is a few degrees above normal for this time of year in Phoenix.

Above-normal temperatures will warm into the low 80s Thursday through Saturday as high pressure builds over the Southwest. This trend will also bring quiet and mild conditions to our state’s high country.

A weather change is expected late in the weekend and early next week. An atmospheric river affecting the Pacific Northwest will sink south and increase cloud cover, bringing a slight coolness to Arizona Sunday through early next week.

Heavy rain does not appear to be in the forecast for most of Arizona at this time, with a few light showers at most in the higher elevations. We will keep you informed.
