A York City man is facing charges following a domestic dispute that left a woman injured.

Michael Myers, 39, was arrested after the incident, which occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 14 in the 800 block of Prospect Street.

The woman told police the argument became physical after Myers demanded her engagement ring back, according to court documents. After the woman threw the ring back at Myers, he allegedly grabbed a television and threw it at her.

As the woman tried to leave, Myers allegedly pulled her by the hair, jumped on her, and strangled her until she passed out. As the woman tried to leave, Myers allegedly threw her to the ground again and hit her head.

The woman told police that Myers allegedly pulled a butcher knife on her and she grabbed a pair of scissors. Police said Myers managed to grab the scissors from the woman and threw the knife and scissors at the woman as she left.

Police said the woman had scratches on both sides of her face, a mark on her neck, missing fingernails, a split lip and bruises on her face.
