In another reference to one of the issues Trump cares most about, the French president warned that the world order will “fall apart” if the strongest economies fall prey to a major trade war. The next president of the United States has threatened to impose universal 10 percent tariffs on imports and 60 percent tariffs on Chinese goods.

“The disruption of the international order through tariff policies pursued by the most powerful will encourage others to do the same,” Macron said.
