St. Ignace hit-and-run man trapped in parking lot and injured

ST. IGNACE, Mich. (WLUC) – In October, St. A man was injured when he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in the St. Ignace car park.

According to a press release, on Wednesday, October 23, at approximately 7 p.m., Mackinac County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area on a hit-and-run complaint. Upon arrival, the victim reported to law enforcement that he had found his bike at W748 US-2, St. He said he was driving in the Ignace parking lot – commonly known as “Johnnie’s on 2″ bar – around 6:20 p.m., when a vehicle backed into a parking lot and hit him.”

The victim said the vehicle fled the scene as he lay on the ground in extreme pain due to a broken leg. The press release states that the victim was able to call his wife and help her get to the hospital.

Deputies followed the scene, collected evidence and prepared leads to begin the investigation.

Law enforcement is asking for the public’s help and would like to speak to anyone who was at the scene on the date/time of the incident or who has information about this incident.
