Denver Broncos Take 3 Big Steps in Brutal Loss to Kansas City Chiefs

Beating the best team in the league is not an easy task. However, Denver Broncos‘ Week 10 performance against Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs It showed how Bo Nix and the defense showed the determination to improve under pressure and compete with the best.

Broncos prove they can go from head to toe With any opponent in the league. So how exactly have the Broncos taken steps to deliver what their fan base has been longing for?

Let’s examine it.

The Broncos defense came into Arrowhead Stadium with one mission: disrupt Mahomes’ rhythm and bring Kansas City’s high-powered offense to a halt — a task it accomplished quite well. Denver had four sacks, nine quarterback hits and held the Chiefs to just shy of 300 total yards — their lowest yardage output of the season.

Defensive end Zach Allen and speedy linebacker Nik Bonitto made the most significant impact in this contest. Allen used his ability to tighten the pocket and Bonitto was an end-to-end nightmare with a rush of speed.

Although Allen and Bonitto had standout games, this was a team effort as Mahomes was handling pressure from nearly every player on Denver’s defensive front.

As Denver faces a heartbreaking loss, the Broncos’ young gun refuses to hang his head and is confident they can compete with the league’s best teams. When asked if the Broncos could build any confidence after this disappointing loss, Nix said, “Oh, yeah. We’re very confident. We think we can compete with a lot of teams in this league, all of them, really.” “We’ve faced a lot of good teams this year and it seems like we’ve been in one-possession games every single one of them.”

This game showcased Nix’s ability to execute in the biggest moments, especially the huge third-down late in the game and his ability to connect with Courtland Sutton to make sure Mahomes would never see the field again. Nix, who finished the game with 215 yards passing and two touchdowns, showed that he can compete against the league’s best teams by staying balanced in critical in-game situations.

Denver’s running game has been inconsistent to say the least. Javonte Williams had a few good games, but the rest was relatively lackluster.

Rookie fifth-rounder Adrice Estime was supposed to compete for a tie with Williams this season. Unfortunately, injuries and ball security issues temporarily delayed Estime’s involvement in the offense. Still, Sean Payton refuses to give up on him.

“We continue to want to include him,” Payton said. “He’s a handful.”

While Estime didn’t have a 100-yard receiving game, he had some impressive, hard-nosed carries that reminded me of Williams in Broncos Country before his multiple ligament injury. If Estime can improve on his recent performance and, more importantly, keep the ball, he will have a serious chance of locking down the starting job.

Denver’s recent performance against the Chiefs showed that the team is on the rise. Despite a narrow loss, the Broncos showed they can play anyone in the league with their elite defensive and offensive potential.

While still a work in progress, the Broncos are moving in the right direction and are building a foundation that could make them strong for years to come.
