Purdue Freshman Center Daniel Jacobsen Injured Against Northern Kentucky

Purdue freshman center Daniel Jacobsen suffered a leg injury in Friday night’s game against Northern Kentucky. The 6-foot-4 Boilermaker dropped out of the contest early in the first half.

Jacobsen tripped over a Northern Kentucky defender and fell to the ground. He struggled to stand and needed help reaching the bench. The freshman walked back to the locker room.

Jacobsen returned to the bench using crutches and ice on his right leg. It seems unlikely that he will return to tonight’s match, but the cause of his injury is unknown.

Jacobsen got off to a solid start against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday night. He played with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in the 90-73 win.

Purdue will now rely on Will Berg, Caleb Furst and Raleigh Burgess in the post.
