FanDuel NFL Best Bets: TSN staff picks for Week 9

Each week, members of our betting team will share their best bets on a slate of NFL games in hopes of creating the best 8-leg debate on FanDuel.

This year we’ll give you our team’s four best bets, as well as the most popular prop bet, side bet, and touchdown bet of the week.

According to investors at FanDuel, these four supports this week are:

  • Most Popular Prop Bet: Derrick Henry over 88.5 rushing yards
  • Most Popular Side: Commanders -3.5
  • Most Popular Tank Destroyer Propeller: Derrick Henry Anytime TD -230
  • Most Popular Total: Lions/Packers over 48.5

Let’s see if we can cash another 170-1 parlay this year.

Domenic Padula: CeeDee Lamb 80+ receiving yards

The Cowboys paid big money for Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to be the focal point of their offense. I expect both of them to come to the fore again in the crucial match to be played in Atlanta on Sunday. Lamb averaged 8.0 receptions for 99.0 yards over the previous four weeks. If you remember last season, Lamb played his best football after the bye week and ultimately finished as the WR1 in fantasy football leagues. There’s no reason to expect him to slow down against the Falcons after last week’s 13-146-2 loss to the 49ers. I’ll take Lamb’s 80+ receiving yards as my best bet for NFL Sunday Week 9.

Connor Ford: De’von Achane First Quarter Receiving Area Above 2.5

The Dolphins will face the Bills in Week 9, and there couldn’t be a better matchup for running back De’Von Achane.

Buffalo has allowed the most receptions and yards at the running back position this season, and Achane has been a clear focal point in the Dolphins’ passing attack. In Week 2, Achane had an 18.4% target share with 7 receptions for 69 yards against the Bills. He also had 3.45 yards per route rushing in this matchup.

The return of Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback has further increased my confidence in Achane’s ability to score high-quality targets. In Tua’s three games with Miami this season, Achane had 20 receptions for 195 yards. The explosive quarterback should fly for over 2.5 first quarter yards if he sees early targets against the Bills this weekend.

Drew Morrison: Bijan Robinson 60+ rushing yards

For the sake of argument, 60 yards for Bijan Robinson is a safe play against the Cowboys on Sunday. First of all, the Cowboys. They allow 154.6 yards per game, tied for last place in the league with the Panthers. Even though Bijan has only surpassed his 71.5 yard total three times this season, 60 is his sweet spot. He rushed for at least 60 yards in six of eight games, including four straight. This is his first appearance with the Cowboys after becoming a college star at Texas. He’s setting up for a memorable day against this defense.

Luke Bellus: Over 46.5 Colts-Vikings

This week in Buffalo, I’ll be on the field personally sweating out Connor’s best bet. And since I wouldn’t have an eye on any other game, I walked away from the board for most of the week.

But good news for you and me, I’ll be back on the couch just in time for my Colts to head to Minnesota for a big opener against the Vikings.

The biggest news in Indy this week is the change at quarterback, a move I believe will revitalize the offense.

Led by Joe Flacco, who started with the Cleveland Browns last season, the offensive linemen have averaged 28.1 points per game in their last seven regular season starts.

While the Colts defense has been better in recent weeks, they’ve done so against Mason Rudolph, Tyler Huntley, and CJ Stroud (without Nico Collins).

Just four weeks ago, that same defense had allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars to score a season-high 37 points.

I see this game going over the total due to Flacco being the quarterback and Justin Jefferson having no real answer on defense.

I also see the Colts winning, but I’ll just add over 46.5 points for negotiation.
